Modular Stacking Beacons

Modular Stacking Beacons

Modular Stacking Beacons are also known as Beacon Stacks, Andon Lights, Indicator Lights, Signal Tower Lights and Light Towers.
They are a very easy to use product due to their click together mechanism, making them ideal for many applications, particularly for multi-signalling applications.

The design of modular stacking beacons means each tower can be comprised of different lamp types, different colours, different mode types and sounders all mixed freely in one stack, giving it the versatility to be used in so many applications and giving the end-user ease of use.
This design also helps with future maintenance as modules can be added or removed safely and with ease.

Stacking beacons are essential for manufacturing environments as well as places where process and machine operation take place due to their instant and easy understanding. Their ideal use in on various types of equipment to show the operating status of machinery in process control environments, increasing productivity and minimising wastage time, but they are so versatile that you have probably seen them in supermarkets too on the self-checkout tills!
Modern technology allows these types of beacons to be used to their full potential as they can be controlled using PC control systems and controllers incorporating sensors, timers and relays.

Did you know that an LED Rotating Mirror Beacon emits a more intensified beam of light than standard LED models?

Did you know that an LED Rotating Mirror Beacon emits a more intensified beam of light than standard LED models?

Our range of traditional Rotating Mirror Beacons have a SOLID STATE LED LIGHT SOURCE.
💡 No more unreliable filament bulbs to replace – less maintenance and an extremely high light output!

Our Rotating Mirror LED Beacons (RM-LED) have an LED array, which is reflected off a rotating mirror. This produces an intensified beam of light, that is emitted over a 360 degree range.
For this reason, the light output is much more eye catching than standard LED models where the effect of a revolving LED is used.

RM-LED Series Luminous Intensity (Cd):

Colour – Luminous Intensity (Cd)
RED – 75
AMBER – 45
GREEN – 180
BLUE – 70
CLEAR – 200

Available in a choice of different housings, in Red, Amber, Green, Blue or Clear as required.

Extremely low power, typically less than 7W, makes these beacons suitable for fire and security systems, and for systems which feature battery back-up in case of failure of the primary power source. The ultra-low current draw means more units can be powered from a single source.

Ideally suited to areas of high vibration, with protective guards and mounting brackets also available.

Have you spotted a Yellow or Amber beacon on your travels recently…?

Have you spotted a Yellow or Amber beacon on your travels recently…?

The colour Yellow or Amber naturally triggers a person’s thoughts to slow down and to be cautious. For this reason, yellow/amber coloured beacons are used on slow moving vehicles, on construction sites, airports and in other establishments to increase awareness to crowds. This colour encourages caution in places where unexpected hazards exist. When extra due care and caution is required, amber lights will be used in conjunction with red lights.

Looking at yellow and amber coloured beacons on the roads, as this is the most common area you will see them in your day to day life, these are used on:

-Road works
Used to alert that there may be disruption, slow moving traffic and hazards ahead in the road.

-Large/slow moving vehicles
You will see these beacons on bin lorries, recovery trucks and large load trucks.

-Zebra crossings

Where a pedestrian may cross the road at any given time, so caution is required at all times when approaching.

-Bridges & train crossing lines
Often used here in conjunction with red lights to give the extra caution needed.

On roads, yellow and amber lights should only be used to warn drivers and pedestrians alike of unexpected or unusual conditions, they must be used appropriately to be used to their full effect.

Loading Bay Lighting

Loading Bay Lighting

Loading bay lights have become an essential safety tool on loading docks far and wide, making them a safer place for pedestrians and vehicles to load and unload trailers.

Lets take a look at the three most common types of loading bay lights in further detail:

🚨 <Loading Bay Traffic Lights>
This is by far the most common and the most safe light used in loading bays. The striking and clear colours of red or green allows for immediate attention and action where required, minimising the risk of pending danger and accidents.
This simple light has proven to be an effective solution in loading bay environments and has become a necessity rather than an option for people’s safety.

🚨 <Low Bay Lighting>
Low bay lighting is typically used in areas with less vertical distance to cover. Lower installation positions require a shallower lighting angle that makes it easier to light up vertical spaces/smaller areas.
Low bay lighting does not tend to be as powerful as high bay lighting as they are not required to light up a wide area.

🚨 <High Bay Lighting>
High bay lighting is usually the best choice for indoor applications where the ceiling is high and the area is wide. This powerful lighting solution provides a bright illumination throughout large indoor places such as warehouses & manufacturing facilities.
High bay lights need to be well positioned to make sure they cast a strong, consistent and equally effective light that can cover both horizontal and vertical surfaces through a wide angle.

Different types of Warning Signals

Different types of Warning Signals

Industrial warning lights are used in a wide variety of different applications. There are three different types of flashing lights most used in industrial applications: flashing strobe lights, rotating lights, and pulsing lights.

Here’s a brief insight into the different types of warning signals:

Flashing Strobe Lights.

A strobe light is used to emit regular flashes of light. Flashing strobe lights feature a high signalling effect through bursting white light and are widely used in warehouses and industrial facilities. This device is composed of a glass tube, filled with xenon gas that helps to produce a bright flashing sequence that can cover a wide range.

You commonly see such devices on moving machinery, security gates, lifting equipment, service vehicles and in emergency evacuation situations such as fires, chemical spills and hazardous gas leaks.

Rotating Lights.

Rotating lights are specifically designed to provide an effective warning signal. Often used on moving vehicles, a rotating or revolving mirror light is ideal because of its efficiency. Rotating beacons have an LED internal with a motorised mirror, the mirror works as a reflector, giving a focused light beam that attracts attention. By using LED’s in these devices, they are incredibly bright and only consume a small amount of power, making it a cost-effective signalling solution.

Rotating beacon lights are used in the same way as flashing strobe lights, but you will most familiarly see them on emergency vehicles such as ambulances, police cars and fire trucks.

Pulsing Lights.

Pulsed lights, also known as blinking lights, are commonly used within harsh industrial areas as they are highly durable and able to withstand vibrations and shocks. By using LED pulsing beacons, they are also a cost-effective signalling solution.

Pulsing lights are commonly used in hazardous areas such as construction sites and on machinery.
