Case Study – LaserZone

Case Study – LaserZone

LaserZone operate two leisure facilities – one is Castleford, Yorkshire and one in Brighton, Sussex. LaserZone is a space themed, hi-tech game of tag using electronic vests and phasors. The experience begins with a mission briefing, then the players get kitted up with their laser gear and play the game in a 3000sqft darkened labyrinth filled with swirling smoke, flashing lights and strange sounds.

LaserZone use our RFE Rotating Mirror Beacons at the start of every mission. Every twenty minutes, a siren sounds, a computerised voice announcement goes out and the beacons rotate, flashing brightly for around a minute to draw attention to the “airlock” where the players go to start their experience. The RFE Beacon is a 149mm by 194mm unit with an 80mm reflector that rotates around a lit filament lamp to create a high intensity flash, and also available in an LED version for lower power consumption and longer life. This is a great model for attracting attention and causing the drama perfect for LaserZone, as well as many other applications where something highly visible is required.

Garry Long, Operations Director at LaserZone, kindly said the following:

“The beacons work brilliantly with the theme of our reception area which is the inside of a grungy abandoned spacecraft. We’ve been really happy with the service and have used deegee several times now across various companies we run. The beacons have been totally reliable and easy to install. I’ll definitely be back for more when we open our third venue later this year!”

It is brilliant to see our products being used for such a variety of applications, from leisure uses like this to warning of danger and emergency.

Onsite Product Testing

At our site in Derbyshire we not only have our own in-house development but also testing facilities, including EMC (Electro Magnetic Compatibility) and Optical Laboratory testing equipment. This allows us to continually test and improve our products faster and more efficiently, covering areas like radiated and conducted emissions. Instead of waiting days or weeks for an independent testing house to return the results, we can get them in a matter of minutes! It means that our new products can be launched sooner and we can move on to our next project quicker, freeing up vital time for further in-house development.

Certificates of Conformity can be supplied on request, along with the peace of mind of knowing that all our products have been tested on site and have passed EMC testing and carry the CE mark.

To keep up to date with all of our latest product additions and improvements, keep an eye on our blog!

Traffic Management Signalling

Traffic Management Signalling

For Traffic Management, we have an advanced range of Multihead Indicators (Traffic Lights), and LED Indicator Panels, which are ideally suited to a wide variety of applications such as Loading Bay Signalling, Shutter Door Status, On-Site Traffic Management, Dockside Signalling, Factory Control, “FIRE” Alarm Warning, “STOP” Signalling, etc.

Our range of housings include a robust 2 or 3 piece unit with UV-stabilised polycarbonate housing and hood (Series MIH/xU), available as  a single unit, (150mm x 150mm base x 150mm high) or built as a complete unit of up to 4 pieces for signalling use (below).

Alternatively, we have the Series C, which is a smaller more compact unit, again available as singles, (94mm dia. x 85mm high) or built together as a complete unit of up to 5 pieces in colours required, in a red or white UV-stabilised polycarbonate housing.

Our range of LED Indicator Panels (IPN) have become extremely popular, consisting of  high-quality wide-angle LEDs for attention grabbing signalling, in a IP65 UV-stabilised polycarbonate housing (200mm x 150mm x 80mm). Many options available, including the IPN/002 Red/Green Traffic Light (above), the IPN/006 “STOP” signal, the IPN/016 “STOP/GO signal, and many more!

Our range of traffic lights are IP65 rated, and available as standard in colour combinations of Red/Green and Red/Amber/Green, other colours and colour combinations are available from a choice of Red, Amber, Green, Blue or Clear, available to special order.

The ISB-T Combined Sounder Beacon is now IP66 rated!

The ISB-T Combined Sounder Beacon is now IP66 rated!

We are pleased to announce that our ISB-T Combined Sounder Beacon is now IP66 rated. Following a request from one of our overseas distributors dealing with a large upcoming project, we had the ISB-T retested to IP66 which now makes it suitable for even more applications!

According to the IP Rating System, as specified by international standard IEC/EN 60529, an IP66 rated item is completely dust tight and protected from strong jets of water. The ISB-T has a choice of 64 electronic tones and has a ring of high intensity flashing LEDs, available in Red, Amber, Green, Blue or Clear. It reaches highs of 114db with an internal volume control to reduce the volume when used in close vicinity to staff or members of the public.

You can find more information on the IP rating system by clicking on the following link:  (http://beaconlamps.com/files/1813/9203/1260/techNOTE_-_Ingress_Protection.pdf)
